Murt’s Selection Dilemma

From Rangers.co.uk:

GRAEME Murty admits he now faces a selection dilemma after his squad impressed in the Florida Cup.

The Gers fired five goals home in Orlando in two games with Josh Windass, Alfredo Morelos, Andy Halliday and James Tavernier all scoring. New signings Sean Goss and Jamie Murphy both bagged an assist against Corinthians too.

Murty will now take his team back to Scotland to prepare for next weekend’s Scottish Cup tie and says he’s going to have a tough time picking his best XI.

Speaking to RangersTV he explained:

“I have more of an idea of what a headache I’ve got because I think everyone has brought something to the party here.

“Everyone who played has added something to the collective and that is what we want, we want more good players in the squad pushing and improving the people around them and challenging for places.

“If we get that training will be better, games will be better and hopefully if we react in a positive way we can push ourselves to a higher place.”

Morelos notched up another two goals on Saturday to continue his impressive scoring streak this season.

While the Colombian’s name was on the score sheet Murty has been impressed by his whole team and he is hoping they continue to gel into an even better side on British soil.

He continued:

“He is just a happy guy because he scores goals and we wanted to get that from him. I thought he was bright and he was lively but I thought all the attacking players were.

“I thought the two guys who gave him his goals, Murph (Jamie Murphy) had a really good combination with Danny Candeias and Sean Goss’ delivery was really good.

“Overall their general understanding, considering them haven’t really played together a lot was really good and really pleasing for me.

“The more we can train together the better we are going to get and the more they are going to understand each other so it becomes more fluid. Next week is going to be really good.”
