An overwhelming offensive performance from Borussia Dortmund earned the Germans a 4-2 victory over Zenit St. Petersburg at the Petrovsky Stadium on Tuesday.

With a trip to the Champions League quarter-finals on the line, the visitors provided a powerful opening statement, scoring two goals inside the first five minutes.

Robert Lewandowski followed with a superb double in the second half, answering two dubious goals from the home side which included a missed offsides call and a questionable penalty decision.

The victory means Jurgen Klopp’s men will take a commanding lead back to the Signal Iduna Park, where the two sides will play out the second leg in three weeks.
