David Beckham and Major League Soccer commissioner Don Garber announced on Wednesday that America’s newest professional soccer team will be in Miami.

The two held a press conference at the Perez Art Museum, along with Miami-Dade mayor Carlos Gimenez, confirming the widely speculated addition to the league, despite the lack of a name or stadium.

The effort represents the second attempt for MLS in South Florida, after the Fusion played in Ft. Lauderdale from 1997-2001, but folded due to financial difficulties experienced by both the league and club.

A timeline for implementation is still largely dependent on negotiations for a home stadium, which Beckham is still conducting according to The Miami Herald.
