After an incredibly dissapointing opening day loss to Aston Villa, many of the Arsenal players took to social media to express their frustrations while attempting to shift focus to the hugely important Champions League match against Fenerbahçe on Wednesday:

French forward Olivier Giroud, who scored an excellent opening goal for the Gunners, called on the fans to keep their heads up via Instagram:

German forward Lukas Podolski couldn’t bear much of the blame for the defeat as he came off the bench, but still he encouraged his followers to stay positive:

Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey, who had an interesting match as he was deployed at center back after the Gunners went down to 10 men, encouraged his followers to look forward and focus on the trip to Istanbul:

Finally, English midfielder Jack Wilshere, who put in an excellent if futile shift in the opener,  joined Ramsey in encouraging the fans to focus on the upcoming Champions League match:

Parts of the Emirates crowd started to turn on manager Arsène Wenger on Saturday for his lack of activity in the summer window, but there’s little time to waste on transfer speculation as an elimination round first leg match looms.
